Employers have been bombarded since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic with new laws and regulations around every corner. With the passing of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), employers who are COBRA eligible may now be paying 100% of the COBRA premium for certain qualified beneficiaries from April 1st, 2021, to September 30th, 2021.
With all those changes, the IRS has made updates to Form 941 on June 24th. There are changes for employers to obtain credits for the APRA COBRA subsides along with changes for employers using the voluntary extension made to the Emergency Paid Family Sick Leave and Extended FMLA provisions included in ARPA.
What should you do now? Make sure to download the new form and discard any unused Form 941 that have revision dates prior to the June 2021 date. To download the form, follow this link: https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f941.pdf
